Thermoelectric Potentials in Metal Dental Fillings

It has been demonstrated experimentally that metal amalgam dental fillings are able to generate electrical potentials with magnitudes of up to 350 millivolts.

It has also been demonstrated experimentally that they are able to do this when they are not in contact with any saliva in the mouth.

A metal amalgam dental filling is an inhomogeneous mixture of dissimilar metals in its own right. see:

Thermoelectric system model

Hello! I need help with thermoelectric system. I need a math model to thermoelectric system, the system has a termoelectric module, a cold plate and heat sink with fan.

Thanks!

Thermoelectric modules with buffer materials

Hi All,

Thermoelectric modules are well known to consist of repeating patterns of P and N type pellets. Most modules have an air gap between the pellets, but some have an "eggcrate" style buffer material (notably the ones supplied by Hi-Z corp). I was wondering if anyone can provide info as to the ramifications of using the buffer materials.

can TEG replace alternator high output current

I have a doubt that TEG can replace the belt driven alternators used in vehicles.
Because alternators have hight output current ( 50 A as example for small engines of 15 BHP )
Any TEG fixed at the exhaust of 15 BHP engine give 50 A current ?????? can any one explain this

purchase thermoelectric units / modules

Good Morning All,

I am looking to create a product using a thermoelectric device; I am spending
vast time in the creation. I am looking for specific specifications in regards
to a unit that can be produced with all unit parts.

If someone could provide some insight as to a list of companies / contacts that produce
customized thermoelectric units it would be much appreciated. I am looking for
a small unit >or equal to 1 inch diameter (module) with a built in electric unit (fan). I am looking for cid unit to power a circular cold plate no more than 4 inch in diameter.

difference between thermoelectric coolers and thermoelectric generators

What is the difference between thermoelectric coolers and thermoelectric generators?

Are they just the same in structure?

A manufacturer in China is selling thermoelectric generators at much higher prices than their thermoelectric coolers.
$90 for a 14.7watt module

Perhaps I can use these thermoelectric coolers as generators?

Any market research on thermoelectrics available?

I've been looking for a market reseach on thermoelectric modules for power generation or cooling, but I haven't found anything. Does anybody know where could I buy any kind of market reseach related to thermoelectricity?

thanks!

Creating a thermoelectric hot/cold plate

I want to create a thermoelectric hot/cold plate which can act in either capacity. In cold mode, I want to be able to cool 10-20C relative to ambient and in hot mode I want to be able to heat to 80-100C max temp (not relative to ambient). Is this doable with a commercially available single or multistage peltier device? My plan is to create it with a top plate that is 4" by 4" and a heat sink on the underside using free convection. I want the height of the total device to be as compact as possible (on the order of 1-2"). Has anyone ever tried making a device like this?

Doped Thermoelectric Materials

Has anyone purchased doped materials from Russia? I have seen a Russian supplier (www.girmet.com) offer doped Bismuth Telluride with high Z values > 3.2. Does anyone have any experience with this company? Are there any other suppliers who provide processed materials? Thanks! Mike
