postdoc position at LPM (Nancy-France)

Postdoctoral or research engineer position open at LPM

The team «Materials with thermoelectric properties» of Laboratory of Material Physics (LPM-UMR7556), located in the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy (France), is implied in the identification, synthesis, and micro-structural characterization of new thermoelectric materials useful for energy conversion in the solid state. Measurement of the transport properties (electrical resistivity, thermoelectric power and thermal conductivity) is performed too.

In the frame of a national project, in collaboration with international societies such as Soïtec and ST Microelectronics as well as the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), we are looking for a post-doc or a research engineer. The activities will be mainly focused on the measurement, performed with the 3w method, and analysis of the thermal properties of thin films. The applicant will also participate to the other activities of the group, especially linked to measurement problems.

The candidate should possess a solid background in metrology, interfacing and, in electronics, with strong aptitude to experimentation. He or she should also have good bases in solid state physics. The knowledge of Delphi would be a complementary advantage.

The position is for six months initially. It can be eventually extended to six other months. Applicants should send a cover letter stating their interest in applying to this position, a CV and one letter of reference. These documents should be sent either to Anne Dauscher (e-mail: dauscher [at] mines [dot] inpl-nancy [dot] fr) or Bertrand Lenoir (Lenoir [at] mines [dot] inpl-nancy [dot] fr), not later than September 15, 2007. The position can be open since October.
